Supporting Reasons Matrix

There is this one quote from the World Consumer Rights Day saying, "Know your rights before buying the products". It is a must to learn the eight consumer rights, so you can enjoy your grocery shopping without having to worry about false information from product brands. But, not all of us even know that these rights exist. Hence, in schools, it is required by the Department of Education to include the Consumer Education program in their curricula. This project could help the younger generation be smart shoppers. But, one catch is that this lesson could deem useless for the students. Thus, schools should properly teach and intensify Consumer Education. This way, students would know that even as a consumer, they have every right to go against false information on products.

As stated before, consumer education may deem useless for students. In terms of groceries, its the moms who do that. In terms of buying for their personal use, they would be the ones to choose, but in quality checking, they would always call out for their parents. But, it is better to have even an inch of knowledge about our rights as buyers. Consumer education helps young ones identify the right product information. It states in the Consumer Act that product packaging and labeling should include its active ingredients, its net quality, toxicity warning, the directions, and if it is flammable or not. Products for toddlers and young adults should also include how hazardous the item could be. The packaging also must be made from child-safe materials, all of these to protect all ages of life.

We have different roles in our community. In business, we can be the seller who could also be a buyer. But we are talking about our rights as consumers. Educating ourselves about the right buying and consuming could help us identify and develop our consumer role in society, which is we can ensure others' safety and to spread awareness. Yes, the government or the professionals should provide that, but even as a consumer, we can save someone too. Because we educate ourselves about how to identify misleading information or falsification of details of a product, we can speak up to someone in authority to take legal action against this. Through this action, we can save tons of lives who use those products and maybe promote other products that are stating facts only.

It is not just the businesses that make the economy moving, but so is consumer education. As we learn more things about the topic, we are motivated to point out false details of products and services that can go against businesses or the company of the product. From then on, businesses will not be able to operate because of spreading fake information. Also, we can encourage ourselves to give feedback and suggestions for the betterment of the products. What a simple way of making the economy moving.

A wise buyer is an educated consumer. When we inform ourselves about our rights as consumers, we must make sure to put those rights as our number one priority list whenever we are purchasing. We must educate ourselves on how to differentiate the fake ones and the facts. We can help not just others, but also the economy. It is not necessary to go to school for this as the internet is always there to help us learn those rights. We can be wiser and smarter consumers and also responsible people of the society.

We all have to continue learning. We are still exploring and discovering new things, so let's always be open to information. Let's always encourage ourselves to apply our newly learned lesson for the betterment of society. Let's always put our rights first and our priorities, especially our health, in buying the products and services we need.
